1) The Will Rogers Institute There are over 25 million people in the United States who are known to suffer from a lung disorder. The Will Rogers Institute is dedicated to the support of lung research and developing new treatments and cures for pulmonary diseases and disorders. Programs and Services: Pulmonary Research Laboratories and Fellowships The Institute supports four research laboratories: University of California, Los Angeles; New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center; University of Southern California; and Burke Rehabilitation Hospital. The Institute also sponsors numerous research fellowships in pulmonary medicine at universities and rehabilitation facilities across the country. Public Education Campaign The national health education campaign reaches millions annually through celebrity-presented television, radio, print and theatrical public service announcements. Thousands of free health booklets to schools, libraries and individuals are distributed each year in response to information requests from the public. 2) The Motion Picture Pioneers Assistance Fund The MPPAF provides assistance to eligible members of the theatrical (exhibition, distribution and production) community who are encountering an illness, injury or life-changing event. Programs and Services: Assistance Programs include Medical Rehabilitation, Equipment Aid Program, Vocational/Educational Rehabilitation Program, Emergency Grant Program, Pioneer Quality of Life Program, Funeral and Burial Grant, and Information and Referrals Program.
