The San Francisco Food Bank?s mission is to end hunger in our city. The Food Bank was incorporated as a nonprofit agency in 1987 and has since become our city's most recognizable anti-hunger organization. Led by Paul Ash, the executive director since 1989, we are currently beginning our 21st year of service to the community.As San Francisco's only food bank and the largest distributor of food to agencies serving the poor in San Francisco, we currently provide food to over 600 community programs throughout the city. The Food Bank is a member of Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks, and cooperates on fundraising, food sourcing and food drives with both national and regional collaborations. The Food Bank is staffed by 69 employees and over 12,000 volunteers who contribute more than 68,000 hours per year.
