Rhode Island Works (RIW) -  Rhode Island Works, RI’s Temporary Assistance to Needy Families program, offers temporary cash assistance, child care assistance, and help finding job training or a job. Most recipients of RIW are also eligible for Medical Assistance but must apply separately. RI Works is available for pregnant women and adults with children under 18 (or under age 19 if the child is a full-time student). Services are available statewide.
