Phoenix Day provides quality, affordable childcare to the neediest families. Founded in 1915, Phoenix Day offered an innovative service - childcare for World War I wives entering the workforce. We have grown into one of Arizona?s most innovative and progressive child learning centers, providing low-cost child care and health services to the working poor. We were one of the first childcare centers to enroll and integrate children of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, and chosen as the model for Sesame Street by Joan Ganz Cooney to test the curriculum due to the diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds of our children. Phoenix Day?s program is centered on the firm belief that every child, no matter what the socio-economic background, deserves the highest quality early education program.
