The North Carolina Association of Free Clinics, formed in 1997, is a private, nonprofit, 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization that conducts advocacy, research, resource development, public relations, training and technical assistance on behalf of its 70 member free clinics and the people they serve.NC's free clinics provide free health care services to more than 100,000 uninsured or underinsured patients. These community-based, volunteer-driven organizations recruit over 8,000 health care professionals, and community volunteers who donated over 200,000 hours of free care.
