The Legal Aid Justice Center offers free civil legal services to low-income families throughout Central Virginia and to low wage immigrant workers statewide, maintaining offices in Charlottesville, Richmond, Petersburg, and Northern Virginia. Through legal representation, community education, and cooperative projects with social service agencies and the University of Virginia School of Law, Legal Aid works to achieve economic and legal equity for its clients. The staff seeks ways to eliminate the underlying causes of poverty in the community, while working daily to alleviate the immediate symptoms of poverty for clients and their families.
