The Kindness of Strangers is a nonprofit corporation created to offer free and low cost professional website design and consultation to other 501c3 organizations in the United States. We design unique websites tailored to their audience, corporate brand and mission with the guarantee of final approval. We assist with advice on content, marketing, and the understanding of how the Internet can cost effectively enhance each organization's mission. Our services not only save organizations $1,000 to $10,000. A well-designed site increases respect and validation from the 163 million Americans on the Internet. It sprouts alliances with other websites and organizations spreading awareness and bringing forth valuable members and donors to each nonprofit cause. Out of the 784,000 nonprofit organizations in the United States, 80% have annual operating budgets of $25,000 or less making professional website design impossible. Those affording often rely on unprofessional efforts because they do not understand the importance, or feel comfortable in their knowledge to know how to begin. Though the technology of the Internet our organization located in the heart of Los Angeles reaches locally and across the country obtaining professional designers, volunteers and students to assist with the sites our staff designs and consults on. Our goal is to create as many nonprofit websites as possible and to be a resource of information to all, giving nonprofit organizations the confidence, access to affordable means with an accurate understanding of how this phenomenal and necessary medium generates awareness of their existence and purpose to all.
